This a a fifth scale model I built at Art Center during my 5th semester. It was during the pinnacle of tactile styling with Toyota/Lexus having just a launched the Celica & Supra range and Lexus with the LS400 & SC400 products, as students, we were immediately influenced by the soft, tactile surfaces and sketched with that frame of mind even in my full sized, "dually" Ford truck which perhaps had some influence in the 1997-2004 F-150 Range.
In this view you can easily read the newly proportioned package I had in mind, that of a short, stout front overhang, thus maximizing the interior space and allowing for a six foot bed with an additional two feet when the rear access hatch was opened and the back seat bench was folded down, allowing 4'x8' sheets of plywood to fit into the bed.
A 1997-2004 Ford F150 "Dually" for reference only (not my design or vehicle). The influence from my scale model from Art Center is discernible.
